Ecommerce Intelligence were brought in to help Filter By Molly-Mae grow their Amazon business, building on an already successful D2C website and existing brand awareness. Our core goal was to expand visibility and reduce reliance on branded search terms.

The Challenge

Filter by Molly-Mae saw a huge opportunity with Amazon and to expand into a growing market share for tanning and body care products but found limitations in knowledge and expertise internally.

In the US, only one product had visibility with an overstock, the brand was less known in the US at launch.

Actions Taken

It was crucial to widen the brand into more keyword searches and bigger improvements to the storefront, content and premium A+. Implementing offers and brand tailored promotions to find audience gaps.

In the US, we did a full market review including market demand, competition, costs and profitability, the most important part was redeveloping the fulfilment strategy to keep costs to a minimum and accelerate market entry as well as understanding shades and the difference in purchase behaviour, we built additional assets and before/after images and videos.

Crucially developing the US products from the UK catalogue meant additional competitive analysis and additional brand content creation.

We then launched an aggressive PPC launch campaign allowing us to execute early consistent sales building on a powerful sponsored brand campaign. This was key in getting brand messaging across and shifting the ad mix towards upper funnel initiatives and top of brand awareness.

  • Strong net contribution margin achieved by while still maintaining a 121% revenue growth in just 12 months in the UK
  • Category leading TaCOS (total advertising cost of sale) of 11.9% in the UK
  • Powerful US strategy driving six figure revenue in under 6 months building 793% growth.
  • The launch of 10 new UK ASINS including a new range reaching over £160,000 revenue in under 12 months as well as gift sets and bundles.
  • Subscribe & Save increases by 167% and customer lifetime value increased by 4x
